Central Sunset

West of 19th Avenue and bound by Golden Gate Park to the north, the Central Sunset District is famous for its fog. But don’t worry—the area gets its share of sunny days too. Central Sunset is also San Francisco’s largest and most populated district. Yet in spite of its size, the neighborhood is low-key and family friendly. Pastel hues deliver a cheerful popof color to the district’s quaint two and three-bedroom stucco homes.

If you like to walk, you’ll appreciate the Central Sunset’s flat, linear streets—a rarity in San Francisco--which are also easy to navigate by car. You’ll also have convenient access to public transportation, including several MUNI bus lines. In contrast to the usual generic chain stores that dominate most communities these days, the Central Sunset District’s commercial corridor is still filled with small mom-and-pop shops, restaurants and businesses.
